In today's market, Green Living Homes have acquired a different connotation and seem to inspire different emotions. In these economic times, there seems to be Green Living Homes do without some kind of a major overhaul of your home, or so it seems. When a new administration enters the White House, someone or some group seems to think he can have a voice. In America, green enthusiasts are of the mentality that the next President will be well for them.
Of course, I'm not coming at you from a mentality environmentalist. In fact, nothing could be further from the truth. I am of the mindset that many of the borders of green thinking in the aspect of "guilt" that characterizes you as bad if they are not green for some reason.
Honestly, the green movement can be a little radical in its propagation, global message and, from a design standpoint, the objective of the things I often Gage, the materials have not been there to justify the Green Room of the house. That has begun to some material change with great design that has begun to arouse the interest of the design community and, more importantly, to be more reasonable from a terms of prices.
Now, here are some things you can do to be greener by making changes only in the things you do everyday and changes in designing future they can do at home.
First, if you are about to make a change in interior design, look their electrical systems. There can be a huge loss in power production systems. Even if you are not making changes in the interior design, walk around your house and see there are ways to reduce some of that waste electrical. If you have just made some minor changes in the way we use electricity assuring the apparatus is off when not in use, etc, you could probably achieve a 6% to 20% difference in their bills every month, a recent study showed.
From terms of design, it goes without saying that spending the extra money for energy efficient appliances. One option that is not so difficult to do these days, but still has to be carefully considered.
There are some simple changes in terms of lighting, changing some of the bulbs that are claiming to be more efficient. I'm not talking about going crazy and I start to change, but when needed to make a change, do so below.
We also look filters in heating units and air conditioning. My father was a type of heating and air for years and was always amazed as to how people do not take the time to change the filters which would cause countless dollars in repair bills a year. There are some very decent filtration systems but are still a bit expensive compared to regular ole filters.
Finally, from a design point of view of the kitchen, bamboo and cork floors should be considered in interior design because they are dynamic future. kitchen cabinets can also be redone with similar alternatives to wood that can taste like the exotic woods.
There are some great looking alternative metal and stone are also good for kitchen counters and cabinets and a great product, IceStone, a brand of used to create recycled glass countertops for kitchens and bathrooms, which is generally between $ 100 and $ 150 per square foot.
The point is that there is finally coming into the market a large amount of products focused on green design and green living at home. With the changes you can make a design point of view and just the changes you do walk around the house, may be green. But that is not to blame.
A bit like when I used to eat Twinkies that I loved, and said that sooner or later there will be a low-fat version, and I was right.
Its the same with Going Green. They'll catch up.
